TRASH/RECYCLE/BRUSH PICKUP HELPFUL INFO
City of Noblesville Trash & Curbside Recycling for the North Harbour neighborhood occurs on Fridays, generally early morning. Here is a great link for more info!
Weeks which include one of the following holidays, will result in a Saturday pickup
New Year’s Day
The 96-gallon blue trash containers are picked up weekly. The 65-gallon gray recycle containers are collected once every two weeks (bi-weekly).
Please remember to orient the container so that the metal lift bar is facing the street. The Republic Services trucks use the bar to assist with the container pickup and empty operation.
While the truck can also pick up the container when the bar is oriented away from the street, it takes much longer; interfering with trash removal efficiency, ultimately affecting the cost structure of trash pickup.
And, please return your emptied containers to your garage immediately following Friday (or Saturday) morning pickup. Please help keep the neighborhood looking great!
In addition, residents can make use of the central recycle collection facility, located at 1717 Pleasant Street, just west of the Post Office and the Hamilton County Fairgrounds.
Cardboard, glass, plastic, metal, and paper can be recycled by placing the materials in the marked roll-off containers at the site.
Also, Noblesville residents can dispose of hazardous chemicals, oil, tires, and electronics (old computers, televisions, monitors, etc.) If you have something you’re not sure about, ask them. You enter under the blue awning; the guys inside are incredibly helpful, and generally friendly.
NEW RECYCLING OPTION FOR HOUSEHOLD ITEMS
Noblesville residents will have another option for getting rid of unwanted clothing and household items. Be on the lookout for yellow Simple Recycling bags in your mailbox. Simply fill these bags with clothing, shoes, accessories, toys, kitchenware, books, etc; and place them on the curb near your trash. DO NOT put the bags in your bins. The bags will be picked up on your regular trash day and processed. According to the Simple Recycling website, the highest quality items are sold to local thrift stores, mid grade items are sold in international markets, and all other items are processed into raw materials. It is important to note that Simple Recycling is not a non-profit organization, so you will not receive a tax receipt for your items. Simple Recycling is a business with a goal of keeping unwanted clothing and other items out of landfills. The yellow bags and item removal are provided to residents at no cost.
